Terms and Conditions

You will find our trading terms and conditions printed on the reverse of the booking form and on page 42 of our brochure. Please take time to read these and telephone our office if you have any queries. This season we have altered our booking requirements. When you book we ask you for a ‘First Payment’ that equates to one third of the holiday price (minimum payment is £100), plus our Cancellation Scheme payment of £20. Details of the Cancellation Scheme can also be found on our booking form. Payment for this scheme is not required if you have an adequate alternative insurance policy but we do require you to send a copy of your insurance schedule together with your completed booking form.

Access

A key to your chosen property will be in the door on the day of your arrival.
Please note: To allow us time to prepare your property to a satisfactory standard for your holiday we DO NOT allow occupation of the property before 3pm on the day of arrival. We also require the property to be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. If you are leaving the islands early it would be very helpful if you could let us know by calling our office.

Cleaning

Our staff always clean the property between lettings, but we would be appreciate you leaving it in a clean and tidy state and all furniture returned to the place in which it was found on entry. Should the hirer fail to give up possession at the end of the holiday, or leave the accommodation in such a state and condition that it is not suitable for occupation by another hirer, he or she will be liable for the charges as shown on the rent schedule of accommodation for the period until it is so available and for any loss of damages which shall be occasioned. Island Properties reserve the right to refuse to honour future bookings from hirers who leave the properties in an unreasonable condition.

Information Folder

A carefully prepared folder will be found in each property and will include general local information to help you enjoy your holiday.

Linen, Cots & Highchairs

Where there is no mention of a linen facility, blankets or duvets (see individual details) and pillows are provided. We will enclose a hire form with your booking confirmation which offers a first class linen hire service. This includes delivery and collection to your door thus saving you additional luggage and perhaps even excess air baggage charges.

Groceries

If you would like to order your groceries in advance, Chalet Valet will deliver on the day of your arrival. We will enclose an order form with your booking information.

Forward Bookings

Regular visitors to the Isles of Scilly will know that reservations for next year’s holidays are made very early and many people reserve weeks for the following year before they leave. We have a policy to protect our regular visitors and, in this respect, please take note of the reverse of the welcome letter that you will find in your property when you arrive. This will outline the booking arrangements should you wish to retain the same weeks holiday in the same property for the following year. These arrangements have changed from previous years so please don't lose out.

Discounts

A reduction of 1/3 (one third) on the quoted tariffs will be made when only 2 people are occupying properties during the periods marked by asterisks * in the tariff section of the brochure.

If you are flying to the Islands

If you arrive by plane or helicopter at St Mary’s airport, public transport is available to take you to the town. Give the driver the address of the property you are staying in and he will drop you close by. He will also tell you the time and place that he will pick you up for your return to the main land.

Properties that are outside of the main Old Town and Hugh Town areas can be reached by hiring a taxi, and we advise that you telephone (01720) 422635 prior to your arrival on the Islands.

Fire Risk Assessments

The new Fire Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 has come into force and at Island Properties we ensure that all our properties comply to the Acts requirements. However we do ask you to play your part - In each property you will find a card that tells you what to do in the remote case that a fire breaks out please take the time to read this card and familiarise yourself with the exits to the property. The card also details the position of the nearest Public Phonebox, should you need to call the emergency services you will need to quote the postcode of the property, this is also shown on the card.
